FORD RACING PUMA SPECIFIC PARTS

Parts that are specific to the Ford Racing Puma are all given '909' or '908' part numbers so not to be confused with standard Ford finis part numbers. The '909' and '908' numbers are also used for Ford Motorsport parts.

When Ford closed 'Ford Racing' much of the parts stock was either skipped or sold off so some parts for the FRP are difficult to obtain whilst others are now none existent.  As a group we do have certain parts in stock from when Ford originally sold off the Ford Racing parts stock we are also looking into re-manufacturing certain parts through the OE manufacturers.

Parts which are available (either Ford NOS or new remanufactured parts) are listed in our Parts Store

9087904 Right Hand Knuckle Joint

Specific to the FRP these differed from standard Puma / Fiesta parts as they have a wider suspension mounting and different angle to allow for the wider front track of the Racing Puma. The bearing was also uprated from the standard Ford Puma / Fiesta item to a Ford Focus (Ex. RS model) bearing.

9087903 Left Hand Knuckle Joint

Specific to the FRP these differed from standard Puma / Fiesta parts as they have a wider suspension mounting and different angle to allow for the wider front track of the Racing Puma. The bearing was also uprated from the standard Ford Puma / Fiesta item to a Ford Focus (Ex. RS model) bearing.

9087943 Right Hand Drive shaft

Specific to the FRP due to its wider front track; the right hand drive shaft also known as the 'short shaft' or 'blue shaft' is longer than a standard Ford Puma or Fiesta part. The right hand drive shaft is blue in colour, most likely to avoid errors when the cars were being built.

9087844 Left Hand Drive shaft

Specific to the FRP due to its wider front track; the left hand drive shaft is coloured black so as not to be confused with the right hand drive shaft (which is coloured blue).

9087789 FRP Alloy Wheel 17x7.15 ET28

The alloy wheels used for the Racing Puma were a 17x7.5J wheel, they are commonly listed as being manufactured by Speedline. This is not correct, the wheels were made by a company called 'MIM' and the wheel design was called 'Speedline' which led to the confusion.

9095118 Alloy Wheel Centre Cap

The centre caps are made up of a plastic cap that clips into the wheel and a self adhesive badge. The original centre caps  featured just the 'Ford' logo / emblem, over the years any of these have tarnished and been replaced with 'Ford Racing' metal badge inserts

9098040 Tyre Valve Sleeve

The chrome tyre valve sleeves were fitted to the FRP alloy wheels along with metal chrome valve caps.

9098041 Tyre Valve Dust Cap

The metal chrome tyre valve dust caps were fitted to the FRP alloy wheels along with the metal chrome valve sleeves.

9098056 Inlet Manifold - Not Numbered

Ford Racing Inlet manifold, these were individually numbered for each car, the number was machined into a blank area on the right hand side of the 'Puma' logo. The inlet manifold number defined each car but was not always the 'build number' of the car nor did it determine when the car was produced. Number '0500' for example was specifically required by one of the first customers to order.

9087751 - Inlet Manifold Lower Section

This part was the lower part of the inlet manifold and joined the inlet plenum to the cylinder head on the engine. There was no gasket between this part and the inlet plenum; instead only a gasket sealant was used along with 10 x M6 x 16mm Allen Key button head bolts
